Star Wars actor and Hollywood dialect coach, Andrew Jack, passed away due to coronavirus complications. According to his agent Jill McCullough, he died at a hospital in Chertsey, England.
Deadline quoted Jill McCullough saying:
Andrew lived on one of the oldest working houseboats on the Thames, he was fiercely independent but madly in love with his wife. He was also a dialect coach.
The actor’s wife Gabrielle Rogers also took to social media to announce the sad news that read: “Andrew Jack was diagnosed with coronavirus 2 days ago. He was in no pain, and he slipped away peacefully knowing that his family were all ‘with’ him.”

The actor, whose real name is Andrew Hutchinson, played the character of Major Ematt in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. He also voiced Moloch in Solo. In addition to his career in films as an actor, Jack was also a dialect coach in Hollywood. He worked with the acting crew of Men in Black: International, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Thor: Ragnarok and two of the Avengers movies. He also worked with Christian Bale on his dialect for Batman Begins and was going to work with Robert Pattinson on DC comic’s upcoming The Batman.
