Who doesn’t enjoy watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S.? Dare I ask? I have been an avid watcher of this show since what feels like forever. But to be precise ever since it aired on Star World when I was in school. Back then I wasn’t able to grasp all of the humour because it was thoroughly American. But now after having more access to the world and travel I finally understand all of it and of course, the show is now 100 times funnier.
I know everyone relates to each of the characters on some level. I relate with Monica, for her crazy OCD levels and her need to control things. Rachel gave us some of the best hairstyles and fashion trends. Phoebe with her eccentric ways was still one of the most lovable and witty one’s. If I had to marry a character it would have to be Chandler, he’s such a cutie and he is funny as hell. Ross and his insecurities and his hilarious expressions and Joey with all his pizza eating and How you doing? I want to thank them for all the happy memories and constantly keeping me entertained through this quarantine.
Here’s a list of my favourite cameos on everyone’s beloved TV show of all time F.R.I.E.N.D.S.:
1) Brad Pitt
Everyone was over the moon when Brad Pitt appeared on F.R.I.E.N.D.S. because at the time he was married to Jennifer Aniston. And the best part is that he was part of an I hate Rachel Green club, ironic, isn’t it? He was hilarious and sexy all the same.
2) Bruce Willis (Also another favourite cameo on F.R.I.E.N.D.S.)
Fun trivia on this one, Bruce agreed to appear on the show for free because he lost a bet to hi The Whole Nine Yards co-star Matthew Perry. He, in fact, won an Emmy Award for his appearance as Paul, the stern father of Ross‘s girlfriend Elizabeth. He also ends up dating Rachel and on their getaway, he dances and calls himself the Love Machine and that memory has forever been burned into my brain.
3) Reese Witherspoon
Resse appeared as Jill, Rachel’s older sister on the show. She was the pretty cute but unintelligent one, the spoilt one in short. I love that she was portrayed in such jest. She attempts to seduce Ross to get back at Rachel, only for him to reject her. What a great cameo she had on F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
4) Winona Ryder
Winona appears as Melissa Warburton, Ray Ray‘s former college sorority sister who Rachel shared a steamy drunken kiss with. When Rachel runs into Melissa at the coffee house she admits to the gang about her adventure and Phoebe refuses to believe the story. In an effort to prove her story true, she invites the two of them to dinner, but Melissa insists that it never happened. Frustrated, Rachel kisses Winona’s character again just to prove that she is gutsy and adventurous. Her plan ends up working a little too well because the kiss causes Melissa to admit that She’s been in love with Rachel the whole time. LOL
5) Danny DeVito
Danny DeVito makes an interesting appearance as a stripper who’s been called to entertain Phoebe prior to her wedding. Of course, he isn’t exactly what Phoebe had in mind or what any of the other guest had in mind. However, she comes around in the end, leading the audience to watch a hilarious striptease from Officer Goodbody that has to be seen to be believed. Wasn’t he just the best? and didn’t it make for one of the best episodes on F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
6) Julia Roberts
Julia appears as Chandler‘s scorned high-school acquaintance Suzie whom he wronged in the fourth grade. She plots her revenge by feigning interest in him. She tempts him to have sex with her and lures him into a toilet cubicle, steals his clothes and leaves him there. Hilarious how he leaves the restaurant. Jean-Claude Van Damme also guest-starred in the same episode.
7) Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin plays Parker, Phoebe‘s overly enthusiastic date that tags along with the gang to the Gellar‘s 35th wedding anniversary party. Parker compliments every single person he meets and everything he sees. But eventually, his over-the-top comments and happy-shiny attitude get to everyone and eventually gets dumped by Phoebe.
8) Christina Applegate
Christina appeared as Rachel‘s bitchy sister, Amy with no filters whatsoever. She blurts out offensive comments in the most nonchalant way. She has a hilarious catfight with Rachel and breaks Monica‘s fancy dinnerwear. She also gets little baby Emma‘s ear’s pierced. The horror!
9) Paul Rudd (Kinda my fav cameo on F.R.I.E.N.D.S.)
Phoebe finally gets a happy ending thanks to Paul Rudd’s character, Mike Hannigan. Mike ends up meeting Phoebe in the most serendipitous way being, on a random blind date that is set up by Joey and the two kick off a serious relationship. They do however end up breaking up due to their conflicting views on marriage but also end up getting back together thanks to Monica and Chandler‘s meddling.
10) Anna Faris
Anna Faris plays Erica, the woman who’s giving up her baby for adoption to Monica and Chandler. As the show moves on they realise during the process of birth that Erica is in fact pregnant with twins. Monica and Chandler are taken aback but over the moon about finally bein blessed with children.
11) Jon Favreau
Jon Favreau plays Monica’s love interest Pete Becker on F.R.I.E.N.D.S. He is persistent as hell and is richer than Richie Rich. However, they end up breaking up because Pete chooses to pursue becoming the ultimate fighting champion even though he clearly lacks the physical skills and abilities.
