Although I’m currently sitting indoors, I can feel the crackle of heat seeping through… which means, that summer is here! Although my skin type is combination for the most part of the year, it becomes straight up oily during the summer. Thus, I’ve come to rely on a few mattifying products so that I don’t look like a greasy mess. Scroll below to see my picks!

1. Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer

This oil-free primer has been a staple in my makeup kit for years. Not only does it sop up my skin’s natural oils, but also blurs out my pores to deliver a soft-focus finish. Plus, it actually makes my foundation last longer, which is always a good thing.

2. MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

Speaking of foundations, this powder formula is a recent find that has blown my mind. Available in a wide variety of shades, this silky powder tamps down on any shine, whilst providing medium-to-full coverage. Since the formula is non-acnegenic and non-drying, it can be used by every single type of complexion.

3. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer

On days when I don’t feel like wearing a full face of makeup, this heavy-duty concealer is all I need. The liquid formula spot corrects all types of woes, be it acne or dark circles, and literally stays put all day. Although it has a matte finish, it never feels cakey or heavy on my skin.

4. NYX Makeup Setting Spray – Matte

This affordable spray is a real gem. Apart from locking down your makeup, it works to mattify any signs of oil that may creep up. I keep a bottle of this by my workstation during the summer so that I can refresh my skin throughout the day.
