Online dates were initially only for couples in long-distance relationships, but they have become a norm over the past few months. Whilst it’s perfectly acceptable to show up barefaced in your sweatpants (my husband knows not to question my style right now), it can be fun to dress up a little to make the occasion more special. Ahead are 5 beauty products that will make you look fierce and fabulous through the screen!
1. Tinted Moisturizer
There’s a time and place for full-coverage foundations, but this isn’t one of them! To ensure that your face looks even-toned and smooth, use a tinted moisturizer as your base. The sheer formula will blur out your imperfections, whilst adding a whole of hydration to your complexion.
2. Blush
Nothing livens up your face more than a swipe of blush! For a natural-looking flush, dot on a cream formula on to the apples of your cheeks and blend it in. You can also apply the same product to your lids and lips to create a monochrome and fresh look.
3. Highlighter
Dewy skin looks really good on camera! Use a strobe cream or powder highlighter on your cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose and just above the arch of your brows. Stick to shimmer formulas rather than glittery ones so that you can look subtly radiant.
4. Curling Mascara
If you had to pick just one thing to do, make it a coat of mascara! A curl-enhancing formula will lift your lashes and make your eyes pop in a way that not many other products can. To amp up the effect, you can use an eyelash curler beforehand.
5. Liquid Lipstick
This one is a personal preference. Whilst tinted balm and sheer lipsticks are great for a quick burst of colour, the impact that a liquid lipstick makes is unmatchable. The opaque formula will draw attention to your pout and create a statement. Choose a true red shade to go with the romantic vibe of your night. Just remember to use a good lip balm before application to ensure a smooth and flake-free canvas.
