Priyadarshan Compelled To Resume Shooting Of Hungama 2 By September As Child Actors Are Growing Up

While many filmmakers are currently struggling to get fresh dates from their actors and working on re-scheduling their films, Hungama director Priyadarshan finds himself in a separate dilemma. There are 5 children in pivotal roles, besides Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Paresh Rawal, Meezaan Jafri and Pranitha Subhash in the Hungama sequel. According to a report by Midday, in the four months during the lockdown, the four kids who are between the ages of 8-11 are seemingly growing taller in height. Concerned that their growth might pose a problem in the continuity for the film, the filmmaker has decided to resume work by September 15.

Talking about it, the filmmaker said—

At this age, children grow up rapidly; there are changes in facial structure and height. While the physical changes that have happened in the past four months will not make a huge difference on screen, it will be difficult [to retain continuity] if we have to wait for some more months. Fortunately, only a song has to be shot with them.

The director, who is returning to Bollywood after 7 years with the comedy film, will reportedly be heading to Kullu and Manali with the cast and crew.

Producer Ratan Jain also informed that the Himachal Pradesh government has assured him that shoots can be commenced in the hill stations, with all the safety and precautions. He said—

The songs and sequences require us to film on the streets of Kullu and Manali. Considering an outdoor schedule is not possible during the monsoon, we are likely to resume work from September 15.

We sure are super excited to watch Hungama 2 and see the director back in action!
