From her fresh face debut opposite Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan in Cocktail to her recent Cannes appearance, Diana Penty is slowly but surely making her mark in the industry. After already having established herself as a successful and prominent model early on in her career, Bollywood came calling in 2012. It’s no small feat debuting opposite some big named stars for your first film. But while the film received mixed reviews, it was a sleeper hit and Diana stole the spotlight with critics praising her performance. While this blossoming star has starred in only a handful of movies till date, she’s one who evaluates and carefully picks her roles as they come. The model come actor has also slowly risen among the fashion ranks with her increasingly tasteful choices.

An actor worth keeping your eye on, Diana Penty’s style has subtly evolved over the years. As a newcomer, she selected more laid-back, comfortable looks and very safe choices for the red carpet. Nonetheless, while she has till date retained a more minimalistic sense of style that stays true to her personality, Diana has definitely amped up the volume and polish with her ensembles in recent years and we’ve taken notice. Rarely missing the mark Diana seems to favour, clean lines and cuts with more solid muted colours and classic silhouettes. However, she has grown to experiment with more colourful looks and played around with textures and trends that have elevated her style.

From being the sweet simple girl next door to more chic and edgy looks, Diana isn’t playing it safe anymore. She effortlessly nails the off-duty model look akin to Kendall Jenner and is always elegant on the red carpet no matter what. Diana has the uncanny ability to truly pull off any look she desires while radiating confidence in front of the camera. This natural beauty has really has come out her shell and onto her own and we’re loving seeing her take more risks and experiment with her sartorial choices.

2012

Diana stepped onto her first Vogue Beauty Awards red carpet in 2012 after the debut in Cocktail. She played it safe in this black one-shoulder Gucci gown with a thigh-high slit and gold embellishment on the strap. While she pulls off this understated look pretty well, her bouffant style hairdo isn’t doing her any favours. The hair doesn’t work with the outfit and takes away all the attention from her gorgeous face.

2014

Apart from sleek gowns and dresses from early on her career Diana also favoured more tailored looks like this white jumpsuit. At the launch of the Travel Plus, November cover issue, she looks sophisticated. Going sans any extra accessories the silver and white belt adds some texture that works to break the monotony of the outfit while keeping it in the same colour family. Her fabulous wavy hair and subtle makeup team well to enhance her natural beauty. Simple yet effective this ensemble is perfectly paired for the more relaxed event where she looks effortlessly chic and put together.

2016

After a four-year absence on-screen, Diana returned for promotions of her new movie Happy Bhag Jayegi. Here on we start to see her taking some more risks rather than sticking to her usual classic cuts. She pulls off this cold shoulder, asymmetric mustard top by Urvashi Juneja. A tricky look to style Diana nails it by keeping it simple and colour blocking it with black wrap style trousers. Keeping it fresh with natural makeup, black pumps and some cute earrings she makes a statement by letting the outfit speak for itself.

2017

Always one to look graceful and elegant in a gown this emerald green number by Zara Umrigar was no exception. We love seeing Diana in bright jewel tones that really pop against her skin tone. This figure-hugging dress included a sheer panel midsection and a thigh-high slit that added some extra oomph to the look. Paired with some thin strappy sandals the gown really showed off her fabulous model legs. Additionally, the sleeked back half-up hairdo and glam makeup with a pop of red on the lips really topped off this refreshing modern ensemble. She looks like she came straight off the runway.

2018

Diana and her stylist really gained steam and amped up her style quotient this year. While she always has lovely red carpet looks, she rocks some amazing contemporary outfits equally as well. I personally favour this neutral khaki ensemble the most. Worn during the Parmanu trailer launch, Diana looks super stylish from head to toe in this look. Bringing her ladylike sophistication, this tone-on-tone outfit look is super trendy with high-waist pants and knotted shirt. She really shines with more sharply tailored looks, moreover, if you take one look at her Instagram page you’ll notice her love for more monochromatic looks.

2019

This year has to be one of Diana’s best years style-wise to date. Not afraid of experimenting and playing around she served us one amazing look after another with the help of her stylist and makeup artists. While fashion can be subjective there were so many brilliant choices that it was tough to narrow it down. So I’ve picked 3 favourites that I feel really showcased her growing eclectic style and fashion choices.

1. A Cannes Moment

Diana took our breath away at her Cannes Film Festival red carpet debut. Walking the red carpet for Grey Goose, she stunned in this fabulous dreamy beige Nedret Taciroglu gown with faux feathers. The corset-style top really snatched her tiny waist while the bottom half was all about the volume. On the whole, with bold red lips, softly curled hair updo and statement earrings, she looked super glamorous. Giving us old Hollywood vibes she made her fans go va-va-voom!

2. A Vibrant lehenga

This choice of lehenga really showcases the shift in how she currently chooses her ethnic pieces. Where earlier on she opted for more subdued colours and styles, she now embraces bright colours and fun prints. She’s absolutely glowing in this vibrant blue lehenga by Aisha Rao that fits her like a glove, showing off her fabulous figure. It’s so fun with a colourful burst of interesting applique work. Teamed with a floral Polki choker and earrings by Minerali she looks ready to party at the Bachchan’s Diwali party.

3. A Layered look

Diana looks super cool and edgy in this white and black layered ensemble. She rocked this white skirt suit look by Sharannya at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards. It gives off a very masculine meets feminine vibe overall. This was an interesting yet risky look with a heavy top layer that included a blazer and turtleneck with extra long sleeves. But wisely her stylist kept the bottom half softer with the sheer panels and strappy sandals. Furthermore, the pulled-back hair and minimal accessories with only her earrings help maintain the balance of look. It definitely creates a statement, making her stand out from the rest of the stars.

2020

Before this year got rudely interrupted we saw some lovely looks from Diana and one we were absolutely in love with is this candy-coloured pink saree! Diana looks ethereal in this shimmery sari with an off-shoulder 3D floral bustier. It’s quirky, fun and a refreshing change to the more traditional outfits she’s chosen in the past. The meticulous floral applique work on the blouse is gorgeous. Moreover, the tie-dye sequence saree designed by Akansha Gajri shines just the right amount without looking too gaudy or tacky. Keeping to the pink theme, her soft makeup look and straight slicked-back hair really accentuated the overall ensemble. As a result, creating a cohesiveness that works well without being too matchy-matchy.
