The show, directed by Asim Abbasi follows the lives of four women — a 42-year-old convict named Batool who has served 20 years in prison; a 19-year-old college student named Zubaida who comes from a poverty-stricken family with dreams of becoming a boxer; Jugnu, a middle-aged, 34-year-old wedding planner who is having trouble with money owing to her failing career; Sara, a 32-year-old lawyer-turned-housewife, who gave up her career to tend to her politician husband and three kids. Fate brings these women together and they decide to form an agency which they run under the guise of a fashion store named ‘Halal Designs‘.

They come to be known as Churails, who then expand their operations and hire women from all walks of life — from ex-convicts, street hookers, transgenders to hackers — to come together and help other vulnerable and oppressed women.

The show, through its very name, is all about trying and redefining the whole idea attached with the word ‘Churail‘, which is normally used to refer to a woman who is a threat to people (especially men) around them. Well, this show goes on to prove that the ladies on the show who are referred to as churails are strong, independent women who are unapologetic about their being.
