Another day, another yummy recipe by our favourite Vidhi Doshi a.k.a. @ramenhairedgirl! This one’s for everyone who wants to give their everyday recipes a fun twist. Upma has got to be one of the most common yet loved breakfast items in Indian households. And if you’re bored of making it the same, regular way then this recipe should do the trick for you. What You’ll Need

3/4 cup couscous

1/2 tsp salt

1 3/4 cup boiling hot water

2 tsp oil

7-8 curry leaves

1 tsp grated ginger

1 green chilli (finely chopped)

1 tsp urad dal

1 tbsp peanuts

1 onion (finely chopped)

1 tomato (finely chopped)

1/3 cup carrot (finely chopped)

1/3 cup boiled green peas

Salt

Coriander

Here’s How You Can Put It All Together

Step 1: Mix the couscous and salt in a bowl and add the hot water to it.

Step 2: Heat oil in a pan, add the curry leaves, ginger and green chilli to it and saute this for about a minute.

Step 3: Add the urad dal and peanuts to this and saute again for about two minutes.

Step 4: Now, add the onions and cook them till they’re translucent.

Step 5: Add the tomatoes and cook for about 2-3 minutes.

Step 6: Now, add the carrots and cook for 3-4 minutes more. Once done, add a pinch of turmeric to it.

Step 7: Finally, add the cooked couscous, salt, green peas to this and mix everything well.

Step 8: Garnish it with some coriander and serve!
