Last month Amazon Prime Video announced a new show called Hush Hush featuring an all-female cast that included big wigs from Bollywood like Juhi Chawla, Ayesha Jhulka, Soha Ali Khan, Karishma Tanna, Shahana Goswami, and Kritika Kamra. It is being touted as a thriller drama with strong female protagonists. The show will have a unique female gaze by propelling the movement of women telling their own stories. Moreover, Hush Hush features an all-female crew as well.
This will be truly one of its kind when it finally comes to life at least in India. But we’ve got news for you on this much-awaited project. A source from the industry told us that Hush Hush might be inspired by Hollywood’s famous show Big Little Lies starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, James Tupper, Jeffrey Nordling, Laura Dern, Kathryn Newton, and Meryl Streep.
While the plot and story of Hush Hush are still under wraps, if it is inspired by Big Little Lies, we can give a guess that the show might start off with a murder in a small town and the stories surround the lead female protagonists and their lives. We’ve already got a cast that’s super exciting and strong, we can’t help but wonder how if this news is true, how the show will be adapted to an Indian context.
