Shefali Shah has won the hearts of many with her performance and now one can easily say, a movie that has her in the lead cast is likely to be a good one! So far the actress has played a host of roles and in her next film, Darlings produced by Alia Bhatt we will get to see her fun side.
Darlings is a dark comedy movie about a mother-daughter duo and in this film, Alia will be seen sharing the screen with Shefali Shah for the first time. The movie is co-produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions. Darlings helmed by Jasmeet K Reen will also feature Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew in the lead roles.
As per a report on Mid-Day, here’s what Shefali Shah said when asked about the film-
Darlings is a fantastic script. Jasmeet is clear about what she wants. Alia, Vijay, and the rest of the cast have been doing readings. Thank God it wasn’t over a Zoom call, because I find it impersonal. [In our reading], we have reached that stage where we are going [above and beyond] the written word. As an artist, it’s fun when you let the script go, and keep improvising. We lost two months because of the lockdown. ‘Darlings’ will go on floors anytime now; we will shoot in a bio-bubble.
Darlings talks about something important, but at the same time, it’s funny, dark, and wicked. I was looking for something like this for a long time, but [makers] often come to me only with serious roles.
