Vineet Jain’s production house, Junglee Pictures produced some path-breaking films like Badhaai Ho, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Talvar, and Raazi that not only entertained us but also imparted a great deal of information at the same time. Once again, the production house is all set to present another interesting story, a movie based on the life of Jeevajothi Santhakumar And Her Battle Against Dosa King Rajgopal.

Junglee Pictures has acquired the life rights of Jeevajothi’s story in all languages for literary and audio-video content and is currently in the process of putting together a script based on her life. The film will showcase the making and downfall of the rags-to-riches businessman, Rajgopal a.k.a Dosa King, the founder of Hotel Saravana Bhavan, a popular South Indian chain in over 20 countries worldwide. His life took a wrong turn when he was found guilty of the kidnap and murder of Prince Shanthakumar, the husband of one of his employees, Jeevajothi. Jeevajothi’s fight for justice made it to the headlines and finally bore results when the court sentenced Rajgopal to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.

Sharing her opinion about the film, Jeevajothi says-

I am overwhelmed and elated by Junglee Pictures’ decision to make a feature film about my legal and emotional battle with this affluent hotelier, a struggle that went on for 18 years. I am confident that seeing this story on the big screen will bring about a drastic change in the status quo of patriarchy.

A Spokesperson from Junglee shares-

We are looking forward to bring this extraordinary tale to screen. This case was covered nationwide and even internationally, for close to two decades until it finally culminated in a landmark Supreme Court judgment in 2019. It is a story of ambition that got a man out of a poverty-struck village in Tamil Nadu to dizzying heights of global success followed by a series of shocking events and of Jeevajothi’s timelessly inspiring courage as she struggled for 18-years in the face of stupendous odds and continued to have faith in the Indian courts to deliver justice. This is a story that must be told, and we cannot wait to tell it.

After the blockbuster Raazi, this film will be Junglee Pictures’ second collaboration with screenwriter Bhavani Iyer and as per sources, the makers will soon announce talent on board for this project.
