The original film starred R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. The action-thriller hit the theatres in 2017 and garnered a positive response at the box office. Madhavan played the role of a police inspector named Vikram while Vijay essayed Vedha, a gangster and a drug smuggler. The film was helmed by director-duo Pushkar and Gayathri. The film also featured Shraddha Srinath, and was produced by S Sashikanth.

On the work front, Saif has kickstarted started work on Om Raut‘s magnum-opus Adipurush in which he will play the role of Ravana. Hrithik, on the other hand, will be next seen in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter alongside Deepika Padukone. The film went on floors earlier this week.
