While 2021 is ending soon, the threat of the third wave for Covid-19 has led to uncertainty stepping in once again. And after Shahid Kapoor‘s film Jersey‘s theatrical release got postponed, many speculations arose about the other films’ fate too. Amidst all these speculations director SS Rajamouli has taken a strong stand with regards to the release of RRR. The Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan starrer which is slated to release on 7th January 2022 remains unaffected despite new restrictions coming every now and then.

As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, director Rajamouli told trade analyst Taran Adarsh, in a conversation, that the film will not be rescheduled. He also stated that RRR has a multi-lingual release and the Sankranti period for its release had been decided long back. The film’s release has been most-awaited, in fact, Thiruvananthapuram has been flooded with the film’s new posters, so I say it is only a wait and watch situation as of now. After theaters being shut down in Delhi, and given the changing situations, only time will tell if the film smoothly releases on the big screens in January. But I really hope it does!

On that note check out the film’s trailer here:

Earlier at the trailer launch of the film, Rajamouli had spoken about RRR‘s comparisons to Baahubali.

He had said,

Obviously, a lot of people will be expecting the same kind of film after Baahubali, but we cannot keep making the same kind of films again and again. If you look deeply, the audience is not waiting for another Baahubali, they are waiting for the kind of experience they had in the film. The kind of emotion they felt in the film is what they want. I am aware of the kind of expectations people have. I will be banking more on the story, the characters, the relationship between them, and the emotional highs we get when we watch the characters. 2-3 minutes into the film, they’ll be watching what the film is and not what we did before.

Well, after an amazing trailer I have been looking forward to seeing this film on the big screen. And I really hope we all get to safely watch this epic period drama unfold on the 70mm.
