Superstar Ajay Devgn has always impressed me with his outings on screen. And while his films were a treat to watch, seeing him in the OTT space will be an experience in itself. Especially when he ventures into the web space with his celebrated cop avatar. But this time there is a difference! In Rudra: The Edge of Darkness Ajay’s character is different from what it was in Singham, and it is very impressive. Overall, the show’s trailer is hard-hitting and will surely leave an impact on you.

Check out the show’s trailer here:

Directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, the show is an official Indian adaptation of the successful British series, Luther, which starred Idris Elba. Rudra has been produced by Applause Entertainment in association with BBC studios India. The series revolves around the psyche of criminals and the detectives who hunt them. Every episode deals with a new threat that DCP Rudra Veer Singh has to deal with. What I also love about this show is the personal dynamics highlighted between Ajay’s character with Raashii Khanna.

Talking about his debut into the web-space, Ajay Devgn says…

The world of digital streaming has always fascinated me, and I am excited to make my digital acting debut into long-format content with a riveting character and title such as Rudra. What enticed me about the character is his nuanced, multi-faceted personality and his grit; something that viewers have never witnessed before at this scale in Indian Entertainment. I am elated for my fans and viewers across India to witness the magic of Rudra come alive on screen and I hope they fall in love with the show as intensely as we have worked towards it.

Talking about the show, Sameer Nair, CEO of Applause Entertainment says,

Rudra as a series marks a first for Ajay Devgn who will make his digital series debut, and we are thrilled that we got the opportunity to bring him to the world of Streaming. Bringing a unique storytelling format and powerful characters together at an ambitious scale, the show follows a troubled cop’s journey to seek the truth in a grim world of darkness. It is always exciting for us to collaborate with BBC Studios and that reflects in the great production value of the series . With Rudra, we take forward our creative partnership with industry leader Disney+ Hotstar, and hope to continue entertaining audiences all over the world.

Well, the brilliance of this web show lies in its entire cast, other than Ajay and Raashii, Rudra also stars Esha Deol, Atul Kulkarni, Ashwini Kalsekar, Tarun Gahlot, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Satyadeep Misra in important roles. I am totally looking forward to this one.
