Cinema is in quite an exciting space today and while actors are pushing the envelope, I like how hard-hitting stories are being told. One such story I am looking forward to is director Anubhav Sinha‘s Bheed. The social drama stars Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. Dia Mirza will also be seen in a pivotal role in the socio-political drama that will release on 18th November this year.
Talking about the project, Anubhav Sinha says,
The film has a subject that I have built from a nagging thought in my head. What started with a small idea, soon metamorphosed into a screenplay that nudged me to make the film on a large canvas. As a filmmaker, I believe entertainment has the responsibility of making its audience think. I have attempted that with every film of mine and that’s what we are doing with Bheed. I have had the good fortune of working with an excellent cast. Bhumi, Raj, and Dia are so good in the film. My crew was an important pillar of strength, pushing me to do better each day. I had the support of Bhushan Kumar, who is a dream collaborator. I can’t wait for everyone to watch the film.
Well, the film has been shot in November-December last year and is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks.
Talking about the project, producer Bhushan Kumar says,
We have finally locked the release date of what I believe is one of the most important films of 2022. Anubhav is a filmmaker who wants his distinct voice to reach the length and breadth of the country. Bheed is that film, that story that has the power to get everyone talking in one voice.
Well, workwise both Bhumi and Rajukummar are in an amazing phase. While Bhumi has Raksha Bandhan coming up with Akshay Kumar, there is also Govinda Naam Mera, Bhakshak, and The Lady Killer. As for Rajkummar, there is Hit – The First Case with Sanya Malhotra that will release on 15th July worldwide, other than this he has Monica, O My Darling, and Mr and Mrs Mahi too. Such an amazing line up I say!
