With the boom in OTT space over the last few years, there has been some amazing content we have seen. From my long list of favorites, Mismatched is amongst the top few, its season two was released recently and the binge-watcher in me was happy once again. But one character that really surprised me this season was Anmol, I liked how he changed, and I am waiting to see more of him in another season. So, I decided to speak the Taaruk Raina (the man behind the character) about his journey on the show and so much more.

Talking about the response the show has received, Taaruk says…
The response is so overwhelming; I cannot even process it properly. I never expected a character like mine to be liked this much because of who he is. The song I made for the show also received a great response.
Commenting on the change in his character arc from season one to season two, Taaruk said…
I really enjoyed the whole process of change in my character, it was very cathartic for me as well. When you play a character for so long it becomes a part of you, so everything about him becomes yours, but when I was letting go of that anger, I was also getting more relaxed personally. In season two it was like a free flow of emotions for Anmol, it was all about let go. Anmol has made me a lot more determined and resilient. I don’t make petty issues a problem in my life anymore. I have realized that small things that we worry about it is nothing, we have got it so easy.
We even spoke about how challenging it can get when the character is restricted in movement. Throughout the two seasons we have seen Taaruk’s character being wheelchair bound, and talking about the same, he shared…
I thought about this a lot, it was challenging, but then I think about people who actually have this for life. Then I wonder that what am I even complaining about, so I accepted it.
Being on the Mismatched set wouldn’t have been less than happening, and Taaruk couldn’t agree more. He says…
It’s the best set in the world, there is just love and happiness. It’s very hectic, the weather is not in our favour, I am wearing jackets in Rajasthan in 48 degrees, it’s not easy, but we are like a family, there for each other. There are no insecurities.
Well, I am so hoping and wishing for season three to arrive soon, for not only do I need closure for Dimple and Rishi’s love story, but I also want to know more about Anmol and his lady love.
