My most recent encounter with Samantha Ruth Prabhu was watching her on the Koffee With Karan Season 7 episode, and in all honesty, I loved her spunky and jovial nature. Well, I believe it is this trait of her personality that has helped her sail through tough times in life. With a positive approach, the actress has tackled her difficulties and today she shared another such situation she has been dealing with. Just some time back, Samantha took to Instagram to announce that she is suffering from a rare health condition called Myositis. In her long heartfelt note, Samantha maintained her positive stance, and seeing her determination leaves me assured that this too shall pass for the Yashodha actress.

Sharing a picture of receiving treatment, Samantha wrote,

Your response to the Yashodha Trailer was overwhelming. It is this love and connection that I share with all of you, that gives me the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at me. A few months back I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. I was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realizing that we don’t always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something that I am still struggling with. The doctors are confident that I will make a complete recovery very soon. I have had good days and bad days…. physically and emotionally…. and even when it feels like I can’t handle one more day of this, somehow that moment passes. I guess it can only mean that I am one more day closer to recovery. I love you…THIS TOO SHALL PASS.

What is Myositis?

A myositis is a group of rarer conditions that might cause weak, painful, and aching muscles. It is a serious illness that needs to be treated aggressively. It can get worse over time and may also lead to a person not being able to stand for a long time or even keep falling quite frequently. Sadly, there is no cure for this condition, but if it’s not treated it can be fatal or even cause disability.

I wish Samantha a speedy recovery and good health ahead. I know she is a warrior who will deal with this condition and walk out of it with a big smile. Best wishes and prayers for the actress.
