2022 has undoubtedly been a fantastic year for Bollywood. In fact, after the pandemic when things came to normalcy, there was an influx of releases not just on the big screen, but even in the OTT space, and this boom led to many newcomers also walking through the gates of Bollywood only to impress many of us. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that this year some amazing newcomers made their debut in Bollywood, be it Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay Deverakonda, or even Babil Khan, from charming personalities to brilliant performances Bollywood has more reason to flaunt now and it’s thanks to these debutants…

Meet the 9 freshers of Bollywood who absolutely stole our hearts…

1. Rashmika Mandanna

Being the legit national crush of social media, Rashmika won many hearts with her performance in Pushpa: The Rise but even in Bollywood, she received quite a warm welcome. This year we saw her sharing the screen with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye. We even saw her in Sita Ramam. Now 2023 is even better for she will be seen in Mission Majnu with Sidharth Malhotra, she is also currently shooting for Animal.

2. Babil Khan

Babil Khan, son of the iconic actor late Irrfan Khan had many expectations to live up to. With Qala that recently released on Netflix, the actor stepped into the industry only to leave everyone amazed. Going by reports, Babil will be next seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan in Soojit Sircar‘s The Umesh Chronicles.

3. Manushi Chhillar

After wearing the Miss World crown in 2017, Manushi Chhillar made her big Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar in Samrat Prithviraj. While her princess stance left me very smitten, I am looking forward to seeing more of her on the big screen in 2023. Well, the good news is that we will see her in two films next year, The Great Indian Family and Tehran.

4. Vijay Deverakonda

This was probably the biggest and most dashing debut of 2022. In fact, the Arjun Reddy actor Vijay Deverakonda was the talk of B-town for more reasons than just his film. This year we saw him in Liger with Ananya Panday, but other than that his other on-screen appearance on Koffee With Karan Season 7 created lots of waves. Fondly referred to as ‘cheese platter’ by many Bollywood leading ladies, I am waiting to see Vijay in another Bollywood film soon.

5. Raashii Khanna

Debutante Raashii Khanna has been very impressive in her on-screen outing in Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness. And let me tell you she is just getting started, in 2023, she already has a big project, Yodha with Sidharth Malhotra and the other one in her kitty is Bloody Daddy with Shahid Kapoor.

6. Naga Chaitanya

This heartthrob from South cinema certainly left me charmed with his sweet performance in Laal Singh Chaddha. Other than his South releases, Naga Chaitanya managed to find a huge fan base here too, and now as he shoots for his next film Custody, I am eagerly waiting for him to announce another Bollywood project soon.

7. Khushalii Kumar

I was very impressed with the performance Khushalii Kumar delivered on the big screen with Dhokha: Round D Corner. In fact, her portrayal of Saachi in the thriller was so good that it only got my expectations high for her next film. We will see Khushalii in Ghudchadi next.

8. Shantanu Maheshwari

After seeing huge success on television, Shantanu Maheshwari bagged a film that would be a dream for many Bollywood aspirants. Yes, he was seen opposite Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Gangubai Kathiawadi. While he did give an amazing performance, this film has certainly put Shantanu on the map, now I cannot wait to see what he has in store for us on the film front next.

9. Mahat Raghavendra

Another newbie who I was very impressed with was Mahat Raghavendra who we saw in Double XL. Even though he delivered a humble performance, it was earnest in every sense. While he has a Tamil release next year, I also wish to see him in a Bollywood film soon.

The Bollywood family only grows with amazingness, but trust me 2023 will be even bigger and better, for the debutants who will be coming will totally leave you mind-blown.
