Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi are all set to take on their first film together. The pairing came as a surprise to many and the first look of the film had the fans intrigued and wanting to know more about each of their characters. The film is being directed by Sriram Raghavan, who has helmed some spectacular films like Andhadhun, Badlapur, Agent Vinod and more. Apart from this, as per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the OTT rights of this Sriram Raghavan film, Merry Christmas have been sold to Netflix for a whopping Rs. 60 crores. The film has two versions to it, one in Tamil and one in Hindi, with a separate set of supporting actors in each. The report in Bollywood Hungama also raises the question about the amount where their source says, “While this deal has certainly racked well for Merry Christmas and its makers, the question remains why such an astronomical amount. Besides this OTT deal, trade has also been buzzing for the satellite rights of the project. Though the satellite rights are yet to be sold, apparently the Rs. 60+ cr price fetched by the digital rights, has the industry talking about its satellite rights as well.”
Merry Christmas is slated to release on 21st December 2023 and I cannot wait to see the magic these two powerhouses create on the big screen.
