Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 has gained immense buzz after the teaser. This film has been highly anticipated ever since the first movie which was a huge hit. Oh My God 2, starring Akshay Kumar was recently put on hold by the censor board to check as the film deals with a sensitive religious issue. The committee wanted to ensure that the film doesn’t offend anyone’s sentiments and would be checked by the CBFC chairperson, Prasoon Joshi himself.

Recently there has been an update on that and according to a report from Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC Revising Committee has requested 20 cuts, involving both visual and audio elements, and recommended an adults-only certification. However, the makers are not in favour of these cuts, as they believe it will compromise the essence of the film. They also oppose an ‘A’ certificate, as they want the film’s theme of sex education to be accessible to audiences of all ages. Additionally, they feel that since the first part, OMG Oh My God, is popular with kids, having an adult certificate for the sequel goes against the franchise’s kid-friendly nature. As of now, there is a deadlock between the two parties, and it remains to be seen if they can come to an agreement soon to ensure a comfortable release for OMG 2 on August 11, as originally planned. The film’s team is also making every effort to obtain clearance for both the film and trailer by this week or at the latest, by Monday, July 31. Their goal is to secure the necessary approvals in time for a theatrical release on August 11.
