Karan Johar’s much-awaited film romantic-comedy, ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,’ features the dynamic duo of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, supported by an impressive cast including Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, and Dharmendra, along with many others. Advance bookings for this film started recently and the movie has reportedly already sold an approximate of around 31,000 tickets for its opening day in the top 3 national cinema chains.
According to a report from Hindustan Times, Girish Johar predicted the film’s opening on Friday could range anywhere between ₹8-10 crore, and there are hopes for increased collections over the weekend. If the audience truly embraces the movie and it manages to achieve double-digit figures on the first day, maintaining and even reaching around ₹12 crore on the second and third days, it could easily accumulate ₹35-40 crore during its first weekend. Anything surpassing this would be exceptional, but falling short of these expectations would indicate that the film couldn’t resonate with the audience as anticipated. However, only time will tell how it performs. He also said “It is the one big film after Pathaan. We have had Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Satyaprem Ki Katha (that performed well at the box office) this year, but these were mid-budget films.”
