Among the many upcoming Bollywood films creating buzz, fans are eagerly following updates on Vishal Bhardwaj’s next project with Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, reportedly titled Romeo. According to the latest reports, the crew is now in the final stages of shooting the action thriller.
A report by Mid-Day revealed that the filmmaker kicked off the last schedule in Spain last week. The 10-day shoot will cover a high-octane action sequence and a vibrant dance number, marking the completion of the film. The initial days of the schedule reportedly focused on an elaborate action set-piece shot in Malaga.
Action and Dance Sequences in Focus
An insider quoted in the report said, “The action scene, shot with Shahid and several stunt artistes, makes use of Spain’s rugged terrain. The song, on the other hand, is vibrant and features the lead pair. The actors will begin filming the dance number on Friday with a large ensemble. This schedule will end on August 25, after which Vishal sir will dive into the film’s post-production. The VFX and initial post-production work have already begun in Mumbai.”
Production Backing and Rumoured Cast
The film is being produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. While the makers remain tight-lipped about additional casting, reports suggest that actor Avinash Tiwary may also play a pivotal role. A source recently hinted, “Whispers in film circles suggest that Avinash Tiwary might be part of Vishal Bhardwaj’s next big project. While no confirmations have surfaced, sources hint at Avinash stepping into a powerful role with a bold new look.”
Clash of Big Releases in December
Interestingly, the upcoming film will enter a crowded release window. Scheduled to hit theatres on December 5, 2025, Romeo will clash at the box office with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Prabhas’ The Raja Saab. As of now, none of the films have indicated a change in their release date, making it one of the biggest clashes of the year.
Fourth Collaboration Between Shahid and Bhardwaj
Romeo will also mark the fourth big-screen collaboration between Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj. The duo previously delivered acclaimed projects together, including Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), and Rangoon (2017).
