Quantico starring Priyanka Chopra recently aired its final episode on the 1st of June. While Priyanka’s fans were disheartened with the show coming to an end, the last episode titled ‘The Blood of Romeo’ stirred up a controversy after it showcased ‘Indian nationalists’ planning a bomb blast in Manhattan in order to accuse Pakistan of it. This didn’t go down too well with Indian fans and an outrage broke out on Twitter.

Now the executive producers of the show have issued an apology.

The statement read,

ABC Studios and the executive producers of ‘Quantico’ would like to extend an apology to our audience who were offended by the most recent episode, ‘The Blood of Romeo.’ The episode has stirred a lot of emotion, much of which is unfairly aimed at Priyanka Chopra, who didn’t create the show, nor does she write or direct it. She has no involvement in the casting of the show or the storylines depicted in the series.

The statement also read,

Quantico’ is a work of fiction. The show has featured antagonists of many different ethnicities and backgrounds, but in this case we inadvertently and regrettable stepped into a complex political issue. It was certainly not our intention to offend anyone.

After the wrap up of the show, PeeCee will now return to India to shoot for Ali Abbas Zafar‘s Bharat starring Salman Khan. The shoot is expected to go on floors this July.
