Is it just me or does everyone think that there is so much out there to freaking explore and experience?! I mean, just look at our planet, what doesn’t she offer? Right from feeding us to providing us the best possible remedies to some crazy life-hacks to what not! Mother Earth is the only solution center for us to go, TBH! And while we’re on the hunt to check what more is there in store for us humans, I happen to come across some crazy benefits of hibiscus. And just like how we discovered hacks to keep ourselves hydrated, to finding out the best nutrient-filled food, likewise, did you know that hibiscus could actually be your best organic alternative from the other chemically made shampoos? I clearly, didn’t. So, here’s a list of 5 benefits from hibiscus that I feel everyone should be knowing about.

1. ‘Thalli’—naturally made shampoo out of hibiscus.

Woah! Isn’t that cool? For how long do you guys think that we can all sustain on the normal shampoos that we use? Out of our daily hectic schedules, I am sure we can all dwell into ready-made stuff, but people, can we try something new and worth it? This particular shampoo benefits you in stimulating longer, thicker and shinier hair, leaving it look all smooth and healthier.

Preparation: Let me tell you how easy it is to make one—take some hibiscus flowers, leaves, and fenugreek seeds. Grind it all separately. Then, mix all the three and add about 1 tsp of olive oil. And, you have it ready to use!

(PS: The proportion depends on the length of your hair and your personal preference, but the fundamental idea is to have ALL the ingredients in it, tehee!)

2. Hair oil—made out of hibiscus flowers.

Very often, whenever I used to be home and free, my mom used to apply this red-colored oil and once it caught my eye. When asked, she said its because of the hibiscus flower! Ya, you guessed it right, I am a mallu, lol! But hey, out of all the experiences, I would give a 10/10 for this homemade oil. It is so medicinal and really works best for people dealing with dandruff, dry scalp, or even dead looking hair.

Preparation: All you need to do is take some hibiscus flowers, grind them well and extract their juice. Now, take some regular coconut oil and mix the two well and there you go, you have your hibiscus oil ready!

3. Hibiscus tea.

Exactly, I also found it weird when I heard about it for the first time. But this is the exact same tea which is going to help you in so many different ways—reduce hypertension, menstrual cramps, liver problems, and much more. Not very sure of the taste though, LOL! Although, it’s not much known to us Indians but, it is also one of the refreshing beverages throughout Mexico, popularly known as ‘Agua De Jamaica’. Yeah, thank me later!

4. Hibiscus Thoran (bhaji).

Thoran basically means a side dish that you enjoy with whatever you’d like—Chapati or rice. Well, I can’t even get my thoughts on making a dish out of a flower?! Until one of my Kerala friends introduced me to it. Hibiscus Thoran is originally made in Kerala villages, so, I’d suggest y’all to try it from the interiors first.

5. Hibiscus flower powder—to tackle your skin problems.

Ah! The thought of having wrinkles and blemishes and that we’re aging is kinda annoying, right? I feel you, people. But thanks to this one godsent plant hibiscus who’s like the all in all, we’re looking for.
