Priyanka Chopra Jonas has made us all proud of her achievements in international waters. She has always been one to try and be part of films and television shows that represent Indians and our culture well, and has brought us great praise and accolades in all these years. Well, seems like she’s all set to create such content herself as she has gone on and signed on a multi-year first look TV deal with Amazon Studios.
Reported exclusively by Variety, PC took to her Instagram to share the article and announced this news. She recalls how when she was a teenager, she would watch TV and think that was how things were. But, if she saw some representation of her own in popular culture, she thinks she would have been more confident. And that’s exactly what she, with her production house, Purple Pebble Pictures, aims to do in this two-year collaboration with Amazon where they are set to develop both scripted and unscripted digital content across various genres.

PC writes in her caption that they already have a few projects in the pipeline with Amazon. She has an unscripted TV Series based on the Indian pre-wedding function, the sangeet, which she is producing with her husband, Nick Jonas. Next, she is set to star in the U.S edition of Joe and Anthony Russo‘s upcoming series, Citadel, opposite Richard Madden. She has also signed on to star in Amazon’s upcoming film, Sheela, where she will essay the role of Ma Anand Sheela.
Back in Bollywood, PC is set to star in the film adaptation of Aravind Adiga‘s novel, The White Tiger, opposite Rajkummar Rao. She is also in the process of developing an Indian-wedding comedy with Mindy Kaling.
Phew, PC is on a roll and how! We are truly excited to see what she brings to the table with this collaboration with Amazon and can’t wait for all these projects she has lined up.
