Q. What hair care routine can I follow to have healthier hair?

You need 3 things for good hair—scalp stimulation, scalp hygiene and good nutrition. Wash hair regularly, apply natural peptide creams and have low-dose comprehensive supplements as in Cyclical Nutrition Program or Herbal program.

Q. What can I do to manage humidity-induced frizz?

If humidity is the concern, here is the cheat sheet—use a moisturiser on your hair. Apply a thin layer of Vaseline body lotion with aloe vera over the hair shafts to make your hair manageable. A few drops of coconut oil applied only over the surface of the hair could also help.

Q. How do I deal with dry and flaky scalp?

Avoid sugar, colas, bakery items and red meat. Have a balanced diet, with sprouts, salads, yoghurt, beans, fruits, and 1.5 litres of water every day. Avoid extreme diets including keto and fat-free diets.

Q. Could you suggest the right hair care for curly, dry hair?

Do not use formula shampoos. Use a pH-balanced shampoo which is recommended for regular use. Use a very little quantity—the idea is to just clean the scalp and not the hair each time. Over-shampooing makes hair dry. Also, include adequate fat in your diet. Natural ceramides which coat the hair come from essential fatty acids.

Q. How can I get rid of dandruff? I get it only on a few spots on my head.

This can be localised scaling or psoriasis. Apply oil overnight every 2-3 days and wash it off the next morning. If there is no relief in 2 weeks, you’d need a personal evaluation.

Q. Is there any remedy for premature greying?

A balanced diet, adequate water intake, and protecting hair from dust, pollution and UV rays helps prevent premature greying. Supplements like Vitamin D, B12, E, C, A, B-complex, amino acids and Omega 3 taken twice a week in the rotation would also help.
