The makers of RRR had earlier issued a statement that the film will either release on March 18, 2022 or April 28, 2022. With these two tentative release dates, the industry and trade were curious and I hoped that it doesn’t clash with Akshay Kumar–starrer Bachchan Pandey on March 18. This might have affected both these biggies. But here’s a sigh of relief. The makers of RRR have finalised an all-together new date and it’s March 25.

A few days earlier, I’d done an article on Laal Singh Chaddha clashing with KGF 2 where trade experts said that new release dates will be announced as soon as theatres in Delhi reopen and then clashes will be inevitable considering so many films are ready and were delayed due to the rise in Omicron. So, we can definitely expect many films to collide in the future. Having said that, it’s a good news for the industry that RRR is not coming with Bachchan Pandey. But, it’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which is set to release on March 25. So, will the makers shift the date now?
RRR has been in news for a while now and people have been really anticipating the film, considering it’s made by S.S Rajamouli and stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan along with Bollywood actors like Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt. Also, considering how well Pushpa has done at the box-office, it has opened up further avenues in general for big films made by south to get a PAN-India appeal. Bachchan Pandey on the other hand is a biggie starring Akshay. It’s just a very smart move by the makers of RRR to push the film to March 25. Having said that, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is much awaited because the first part did so well.
I’m so looking forward to all these films, and eventually, this is just a win for the movie-goers. Don’t you think?
