Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to create some magic, with his next project titled Heeramandi. The film revolves around The series explores the cultural reality of Heeramandi, a dazzling district, through the stories of courtesans and their patrons set against the tumultuous backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s. The film stars some of the biggest stars such as Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Shaikh and Richa Chadha. According to an exclusive report in Times Now, it is said that the role was written for the legendary Rekha, but since she could not take it up, it was passed on to Manisha Koirala who took up the role in Heeramandi. Manisha did not know Kathak, which was a requirement for the role, but she trained in the dance form to fit the role that had been passed onto her. A source close to the project, in the Times Now report, also stated that this is the performance of her lifetime, and Manisha has given a dazzling performance. So much so that she did not allow Sanjay Leela Bhansali to miss Rekha even for a day.
